Memory Verse - Revelation 1:3 (Revelation 1:1-3)

"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."

We have been in the time of the end since 1844. See Daniel 8:14. And the end of time is at Jesus second coming. (See 1 Thessalonians chapter five.)

Revelation 1:1 - The time is at hand. Revelation is an open book . Revelation 1:2 - Jesus said to John to write these things that will take place in the closing scenes of this earth's history.

Memory Verse - Revelation 1:5 (Revelation 1:4-8)

"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth, unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood."

Revelation 1:4-8 - The message to the seven churches which are in Asia from Jesus Christ. The whole chapter of Revelation 1 is full of hope, faith and reassurance.

Revelation 1:5 - Jesus has promised to wash us from our sins, in His own blood. See Daniel 8:14 and Revelation 18:1-4.

Revelation 1:7,8 - The second coming of Christ and every eye shall see Him.

Memory Verse - Revelation 1:18 (Revelation 1:9-20)

"I am He that liveth, and was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, amen and have the keys of Hell (Greek        Hades = Grave) and of death."

Revelation 1:10 - Jesus spoke to John on the Sabbath day. (Matthew 12:8)

Revelation 1:13-16 - How Jesus looks in Heaven.

Revelation 1:18 - Jesus our risen savior says "I am alive for evermore." I believe the cure for sin is to see Jesus dying for our sin. Isaiah 53:11.

Memory Verse - Revelation 2:7 (Revelation 2:1-7)

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches, to him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of live, which is in the midst of the paradise of God."

Revelation chapter 2. The messages to the seven churches from Jesus. All seven churches lose their first love. They were destitute of the low of Jesus.

Revelation 2:1-7 - The message to the church of Ephesus. "He hath and ear, let him hear what the spirit saith to the church of Ephesus. You have left thy first love, therefore repent and do thy first works." Growing in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We must remember that the believers did not know of sins their spiritual fall. They did not realize that they had lost sight of Jesus Christ. Revelation 2:4

Memory Verse - Revelation 2:17 (Revelation 2:8-29)

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches, to him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna (Jesus), and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written , which no man knoweth saying he that receiveth it."

Revelation 2:8-29 - To the churches of Smyrna, Pergamos, and the church of Thyatira,. They are mingling evil with good, they tolerate wrong doing in the church, like false doctrines, adultery, fornication and worldly idols. They are not willing to separate the evil from the good in the church.

Remember the destruction of Sodom - They refused the call of God and were left in darkness.

Memory Verse - Revelation 3:5 (Revelation 3:1-6)

"He that overcometh (sin), the same shall be clothed in white raiment, and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His angels."

Revelation 3:1-6 - They trusted to their profession of faith for salvation. The church of Sardis had a form of godliness without the power. They were not striving to overcome sin in their lives. Jesus tells them to repent  constantly, that they may be constantly victorious.

Memory Verse - Revelation 3:10 (Revelation 3:7-13)

"Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee home from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."

Revelation 3:7-13 - The message to the church of Philadelphia . The church of Philadelphia had made Christ their companion. Their one desire was to be like Christ, Christ our righteousness. Colossians 1:27. So Jesus says to them "Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut this door." Rev 3:8. For this open door is for communication between my father, you and me. "To him that overcometh, I will write upon him the name New Jerusalem, and I will write upon him my new name." Rev 3:12.

Memory Verse - Revelation 3:18 (Revelation 3:14-22)

The righteousness of Christ is imparted to the sinner. "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich, and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and the shame of thy nakedness do not appear, and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see." Rev. 3:18. This is a message  from Jesus for our self surrender. A message of faith, love and the righteousness of Christ imparted to the sinner.

Revelation 3:14-22 - The message of Christ to His church of Laodicea. This is a message of repentance and reform. The message to the last day church of Laodicea is - will my people ever know their true condition before God? Rev 3:17 (works and selfishness.)

Revelation 3:15,16 - Jesus says to his people, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and repent."

Revelation 3:19,20 - "Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him and he with me."

Memory Verse - Revelation 4:11 (Revelation 4:1-11)

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou has created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." Rev. 4:11

Revelation 4:1-11 - This is all about justification by faith, and the righteousness of Christ - see Romans 3:24-26.

Revelation 4:4-11 - And the four and twenty elders - that is the four angles and the twenty elders worship God the Father and Jesus, and declare, for thou has created all things. They declare His righteousness, that he might be just and the justifier of him which believe in Jesus.
