A whole-food, plant-based diet consists of food that comes from plants (fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, etc.) and is eaten in its simplest form with as little processing and additives as possible. Such food has higher levels of nutrients, anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals than processed food. This type of eating is associated with a variety of health benefits.
